This live cohort is for anyone who feels called to deepen their understanding of Black women’s spiritual histories, traditions, power, and divinity.
Together, we will explore sacred figures and traditions rooted in African and African diasporic histories, embodiment, ancestral wisdom, and the Divine.
This course offers structure, reflection, and live guidance for students who want more than information. It is designed to support integration, spiritual learning, and everyday rootedness.

This course is especially for those seeking to question patriarchal religious narratives, reclaim histories and spiritual knowledge that have been erased or suppressed, and explore the Divine Mothers, Orisha, priestesses, medicine women, and sacred women as pathways to understanding their own identity, divinity, power, intuition, and spiritual gifts.
Whether you are beginning this exploration or deepening an existing spiritual journey, this course offers a foundation for integrating ancestral wisdom, sacred teachings, rituals, and practices into your life for healing, empowerment, connection, joy, abundance, and liberation.
This course is for you if you are ready to:
- Deepen your relationship with yourself and your lineage—your ancestral mothers, inner wisdom, sacred power, magic, intuition, and spiritual gifts.
- Divest from systems and beliefs that diminish your humanity and power and continue to position Black women at the bottom of racial, gender, religious, and social hierarchies.
- Interrogate patriarchal religious narratives and power-over paradigms rooted in domination, control, oppression, erasure, and the suppression of women’s spiritual authority.
- Reclaim your identity through the Divine Mothers and your sacred foremothers, recognizing aspects of your own divinity, power, wisdom, creativity, and magic within their stories and archetypes.
- Reconnect with ancestral wisdom and spiritual traditions that offer pathways toward healing historical and intergenerational wounds and restoring relationships with self, spirit, ancestry, nature, and community.
- Integrate the wisdom, teachings, rituals, and magic of your Divine foremothers into your everyday life in support of healing, abundance, empowerment, creativity, joy, liberation, sexual freedom and expression, connection, and sacred relationships.
- Move beyond the lies, omissions, and distortions you inherited and seek deeper knowledge of histories, cosmologies, and spiritual traditions that have been hidden, erased, demonized, or forgotten.
- Remember more fully who you are and consciously shape a spiritual life rooted in your own knowing, discernment, lineage, and relationship with the Divine.
What we will explore
Across 8 weeks, we will study spiritual traditions, sacred figures, and archetypes connected to Black women and the African diaspora.
Module 1
COSMOLOGIES OF THE PRIMORDIAL MOTHERS
Explore African and Indigenous cosmologies and origin stories that place feminine creative power at the beginning of existence. We will examine traditions and teachings surrounding the Primordial Mothers, alongside Indigenous American creation traditions.
Module 2
DAUGHTERS OF THE DIVINE
From antiquity to the present day, we will trace the Divine Feminine as source and origin, exploring the priestesses, medicine women, healers, and keepers of the temples’ sacred knowledge and ritual through whom religious and spiritual traditions took shape and form.
Module 3
SACRED POWER, ARCHETYPES, & RITUALS OF THE DIVINE
This module explores how the wisdom and power of the Divine Feminine are expressed, accessed, carried, and manifested through spiritual practices, traditions, lineages, ritual, and everyday life.
Module 4
REUNIFICATION WITH THE DIVINE MOTHER AND HER DAUGHTERS
We will explore the Divine Mother and Her daughters not simply as figures of antiquity or subjects of study, but as sacred presences whose wisdom, power, teachings, and rituals remain available to us. We will consider what it means to resacralize the Divine Feminine in contemporary life.Â

Black Women’s Spiritualities II: Divine Mothers, Feminine Deities, Priestesses, & Medicine Women is a live learning experience. You will be guided through scholarship, discussion, reflection, and spiritual practice in community.
The teachings are intended to extend beyond the classroom, offering tools and perspectives to help you navigate everyday life from a place of rootedness, power, clarity, truth, and healing. This class meets live weekly. Course replays will be made available.

Meet Your Course Instructor
Dr. Kimberly J.
Spiritual scholar, author, educator, and healing practitioner
Dr. Kimberly J. is a spiritual scholar, author, educator, and healing practitioner dedicated to helping Black women heal the effects of intergenerational trauma through ancestral wisdom, ritual, and embodied spiritual practice.
She is the founder of Soul-II-Soul Healing Institute. A former corporate executive with an MBA in Finance, she now holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Religion with a focus on Women’s Spirituality.
Dr. Kimberly J. has presented her research at Harvard Divinity, the Parliament of the World’s Religions, and the Association of Black Psychologists. Her writing and teaching blend scholarship, memoir, and sacred practice to support personal and collective transformation.
