Black Women’s Spiritualities II: Divine Mothers, Feminine Deities, Priestesses & Medicine Women is for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of the spiritual histories, traditions, archetypes, and divinities connected to Black women and the African diaspora.
This course may be for you if you:
- Want to deepen your knowledge of African and African diasporic spiritual traditions and feminine divinities.
- Are curious about Sekhmet, Oshun, Yemaya, Mami Wata, Queen Nanny, and other Divine Mothers, priestesses, healers, medicine women, and sacred feminine figures.
- Want to explore Black women’s spiritual histories beyond dominant Western and patriarchal religious frameworks.
- Are interested in what these traditions can teach us about power, spirit, healing, identity, ancestry, nature, and the sacred feminine.
- Want to heal the disconnect between self, spirit, place, and nature
- Want the opportunity to learn, reflect, ask questions, and engage these teachings within a live, supported learning community.
This gathering is for you if you have already begun this sacred study and feel called to continue with more structure, reflection, and live guidance. If you have completed the Black Women's Identities, Spirits, and Spiritualities program, this is an ideal next course to deepen your study. This class is also open to anyone who feels called to this study and wants to deepen their understanding of Black women’s spiritual histories, traditions, power, and divinity.

Meet Your Instructor
Dr. Kimberly J.
Dr. Kimberly J. is a spiritual scholar, author, educator, and healing practitioner dedicated to helping Black women heal the effects of intergenerational trauma through ancestral wisdom, ritual, and embodied spiritual practice. She is the founder of Soul-II-Soul Healing Institute. A former corporate executive with an MBA in Finance, she now holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Religion with a focus on Women’s Spirituality. Dr. Kimberly J. has presented her research at Harvard Divinity, the Parliament of the World’s Religions, and the Association of Black Psychologists. Her writing and teaching blends scholarship, memoir, and sacred practice to empower personal and collective transformation.
